Welcome to Erica Ann Photography and Fine Art! As a professional Portland wedding photographer, the temptation is to recreate past moments by having people pose. But who wants pictures of cookie-cutter poses? The truth is, great wedding photography happens when everyone is comfortable being themselves. That's why I love being a photojournalistic wedding photographer.

As your Oregon wedding photographer, capturing the beauty of your northwest wedding is only the beginning. How those images are transfered to physical media is all up to you. Using the best shots of your portland wedding, I create a custom album that you will love to show off to anyone you can. My real specialty is taking your favorite photographs and putting them on canvas. I can print them on, paint them on, or both - it's up to you.

I graduated with a B.A. in Studio Arts from George Fox University. I am happily married to Jeff and together we have a cross-eyed cat named Charlie and three beautiful ball pythons; Ruby, Jasmine and Virgil.

Wedding Photography

I come to each wedding to capture the life and beauty of the day. My photographic style is a creative blend of fine art, portraiture and photojournalism. I use a natural lifestyle approach to document weddings. With my lens, I watch your story unfold without trying to run the show or set up every shot. I will capture the serene moments of careful preparation and the spontaneous expressions of joy and celebration. I will document the striking details that you have spent hours planning that might otherwise be lost forever.

I believe that the first purpose of a work of art is to convey truth and the second is to reveal beauty. I know that might sound a little corny, but there you have it. I’m not interested in a thousand posed pictures, (but maybe ten.) I don’t want you to look back on your event and think, “Oh, I remember when we posed for that and when the photographer made us stand there and then she couldn’t get the flash right so we had to wait for the….”

That is not my idea of a successful photoshoot.

My goal is to stay out of the way as much as possible on the day of your event but be there to gently guide you into the best you. (That sounds confusing and grammatically incorrect, but its not, I promise.) I do not only want to simply make a visual record of your day, but help you relive the emotions, beauty and truth in your life when you see the images.

Wedding packages range from $1500 - $3000. I am available for travel as long as you can get me there and give me a place to sleep!

Custom Photo Albums

Flush Mount Style

The flush mount album is perfect for remembering your wedding. The acrylic photo cover makes it especially customizable. The prints are made by Robi’s Camera in Lakewood, Washington and bound by Renaissance Albums in Port Chester, New York. The SoHo album is a contemporary flush mount style and is designed to showcase full page spreads. It is unique and unrivaled in presentation. This award-winning book uses seamless page craftsmanship to create its distinctive style.

Coffee Table Style

The coffee table album is beautiful with a full cover photo in a matte finish! The pages are heavy; they come in a matte, glossy or pearl finish. This is perfect for a baby album, graduate portrait session, boudior, engagement signing book or even parent wedding albums! These albums are made by White House Custom Color. The covers are made with masonite which gives them a very smooth finished feel. Photo covers are made with a photographic print that is laminated and adhered to the cover. The books are press printed with HP Indigo printing technology with liquid inks. The pages are printed on 110# hinged paper in semi-gloss or pearl. The hinged paper lets the pages to lay flat. Each album is custom designed by Erica Ann Photography and Fine Art to tell your unique story. Sizes vary from 5” x 5” to 12” x 12”. Prices vary depending on album type and size.

Engagement Photography

Engagement sessions are included in every wedding package because I believe that building a relationship with you is crucial and much easier to do before the day of your wedding. I will scout out the best location that reflects your style and personality. Whether you would like a fun urban photoshoot or an intimate natural setting, I will help you create lasting images to reflect this evanescent time in your life. Most wedding packages include an 8” x 8” coffee table photo guest book.

Boudoir Photography

A boudoir album is the ultimate wedding gift for your husband or maybe even just for yourself! All shoots are on location so we can get that authentic bedroom feel. I recommend bringing at least five outfits and any other accessories that you think you might use – shoes, tie, jewelry etc. The more we have to choose from, the better! The boudoir session is $450 and includes a 5” x 5” album, glamour touch up on all album images, web resolution images on CD and online proofing. All of these things are included in the Royal wedding package or can be added to any other wedding package a la carte.

Fine Art

Photographing people is my passion because you will never laugh, kiss, or even sneeze the same way twice. I do not only want to simply make a visual record of the day, but help you relive the emotions, beauty and truth in your life when you see the images.

My art begins with my camera. Some moments are so fleeting, I can’t imagine holding those things in my mind long enough to get them down on a canvas. Sounds a little bit stressful to me.

My idea of a successful photoshoot is capturing real moments that tell a little piece of your story. Most of the time I will make you ignore me and just sit back to wait for that certain look, laugh or smile.

Family Portrait Photography

Kids and families are my favorite! I offer maternity, newborn, baby, child and family photoshoots. The sessions can be at your house, my house, a local park or wherever you think your child will be most comfortable. I love doing individual sessions but I’m also really excited about the Baby’s First Year Album!

Baby's First Year Album

Throughout your child’s first year, we will get together several times to document his/her journey through life. Each session is 1-2 hours and will take place in your home or the location of your choice. At the end of your child’s first year we will put together a beautiful album that you will cherish forever! The premium package includes six sessions: maternity, newborn, 3 month, 6 month, 9 month and 1 year. For $2000 you will receive a beautiful custom 9” x 9” flush mount album, an online proof site and $150 print credit. The standard package comes with four sessions: maternity, newborn, 6 month and 1 year. For $1000 you will receive a 10” x 10” photo cover coffee table album and $100 credit toward prints.

Graduate Photography

Celebrate your high school or college graduation with a special photoshoot! Each session is specially designed just for you. If you want have a high energy funky urban shoot or a low key natural session in the forest or by a creek we will make it happen. You can dance in the rain or frolic on the beach. This is not a one-size-fits-all, tilt-your-head-and-give-me-a-fake-smile kind of photoshoot.Sessions last 3-4 hours so bring a good variety of clothes and lots of ideas! $450 includes a 10” x 10” coffee table album, 11” x 14” gallery wrap and all web resolution images on a CD.
