this is erica ann...

I believe that the first purpose of a work of art is to convey truth and the second is to reveal beauty. I know that might sound a little corny, but there you have it. I’m not interested in a thousand posed pictures, (but maybe ten.) I don’t want you to look back on your event and think, “Oh, I remember when we posed for that and when the photographer made us stand there and then she couldn’t get the flash right so we had to wait for the….”

That is not my idea of a successful photoshoot.

My goal is to stay out of the way as much as possible on the day of your event but be there to gently guide you into the best you. (That sounds confusing and grammatically incorrect, but its not, I promise.) Photographing people is my passion because you will never laugh, kiss, or even sneeze the same way twice. I do not only want to simply make a visual record of your day, but help you relive the emotions, beauty and truth in your life when you see the images.

I have had a camera around my neck for seven years and have been shooting weddings since 2006. I graduated from George Fox University, earning a degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography.

Amanda and Simran – Portland Wedding

Simran and Amanda were married under St. John’s Bridge in Cathedral Park. (If you’re hoping for a rare glimpse into troll marital rituals, so sorry to disappoint) This was a wedding centered around people. The ceremony was beautiful and wonderfully punny, followed by a big family reunion style bbq in the couple’s backyard. There were snowcones for the kids, homebrew for the adults and plenty of table scraps for the dogs. There was croquet, bubble blowing and even a “shotgun” wedding – you’ll see. Congratulations Amanda and Simran – I wish you all the best in your future together.

Andrew and Molly – Estacada Wedding

Molly and Andrew a.k.a. Molldrew had a classy circus themed wedding out in Estacada, OR. There was lively bluegrass music, two-step dancing, vodka enhanced snow cones, peanuts, trampoline aerobatics, slow cooked bbq, a fantastic photobooth and of course, animal crackers. Did I forget anything? Oh yah, kazoos and cardboard cutouts of the bride and groom… It was definitely a wedding that none will soon forget. Congratulations Molly and Andrew, thanks for showing us all a good time and congratulations!
